I am an experienced gardener but moved to a townhome condo in 2007 so do have some challenges with materials storage. I was so tickled to find local volunteers at the West Seattle Edible Garden Sale last weekend (5/23/09). I am on a budget more than ever before so scored a hail-damaged silvery fir tomato plant for $1.69. I came out the door and would normally have passed up the offer but just seeing all those great planting materials and the thought of the time saved in having to go buy soil to plant up my new tomato plant (I only get one per year, since container gardening). So for $1.69 and some fun, I came home with a great plant and all I had to do was water it in real good. Thanks Stu and everyone who helped out that day!1
